a bit about us
Meet the team
Young women exploring life through the arts, making powerful work for personal development and social change.
At Miss Rep we make and eat lunch together every week.
We talk about a lot of different things.
We make art, we write songs, we create characters and their lives.
Maybe we write about our own lives.
Everyone in the group experiences some challenges in life, whether struggling at school, having issues at home, problems with certain relationships or life situations.
Miss Rep comes together to share and transform, to see who we are and who we want to become.
Many girls have joined miss rep over the years, some for six months, some for 7 years. Everyone makes their own choices. The girls’ ages have ranged from 13 – 21.
We make shows and exhibitions to share our work.
Our work is cross-art, layered, unapologetic and honest.
We share our work to make invisible stories visible, to ask questions, to embrace common ground and to spark vital dialogue with our communities.
We believe in equality.
We see prejudice and disadvantage around us. Miss Rep seeks to shine a light on the young people whose amazing potential has been obscured by simplistic labels, to amplify the voices that are unheard, to build resilience and self-love and discover purpose and passion.
